LEWIS COUNTY HUMANE SOCIETY FEATURED PET OF THE WEEK

New pet featured each Wednesday!

March 04, 2026: Porsche and Crew

A cat lying on a blanket with kittens

AI-generated content may be incorrect."We could sure use your help! There are over 30 of us up here at the shelter from a large outdoor colony who survived this incredibly harsh North country winter under a trailer - cold, sick and hungry. My name is Porsche and the day after I arrived at the shelter I gave birth to these 4 beautiful kittens. I am so thankful to be here and my babies and I will be going to a foster home. Everyone is safe now and  we are racking up huge vet bills with treatment for upper respiratory infections,  infected ears and teeth, sore paws, a cyst, spay and neuters and vaccines. If you would like to donate toward our care checks can be sent to LCHS,  P.O.Box 682, Lowville NY 13367 or go to our facebook page Lewis County Humane Society NY 501c3 or our website lewiscountyhumanesociety.org. Thank you for taking the time to read our story. We are all so grateful to have a second chance."

Check out pictures of all the cats, kittens, dogs and puppies at the shelter ready for adoption on our new Facebook page Lewis County Humane Society NY 501c3. Application forms and information can be found at lewiscountyhumanesociety.org/adopt

The Lewis County Humane Society,  6388 Pine Grove Road, Glenfield, is open 2-6 pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday and on Saturday from 11am to 4pm. Reach us by phone at 315-376-8349 or on our new Facebook page at Lewis County Humane Society NY 501c3. Donations can be mailed to: LCHS, PO Box 682, Lowville, NY 13367.
