Pollinators and Plants: Attracting Pollinators to a Garden Near You

Tug Hill Winter Wildlife Webinar Series, Part 3: March 26, 7 p.m.

WATERTOWN, NEW YORK – The Tug Hill Commission invites the public to join a webinar on Thursday, March 26 at 7 p.m. to learn about the importance of pollinators, and how to attract them. Register at https://tinyurl.com/WWWRegistration2026 and a Zoom link will be sent along with your registration confirmation email.

This webinar will highlight the vital role pollinators play in our natural environment, and how to attract and support them. Small creatures such as moths, butterflies, and bees make a huge impact. Without them, everything from flowers to the food supply chain would be impacted. Webinar participants will hear from Cierra Williams, Horticulture and Natural Resources Educator from Cornell Cooperative Extension of Jefferson County.

This webinar is part of the Tug Hill Winter Wildlife Webinar Series, which explores the region’s diverse wildlife and conservation efforts. Stay tuned for the final part of the series on April 30 at 7 p.m., where participants will learn about owls from Linda Gibbs, Community Programs Director at the Tug Hill Tomorrow Land Trust, and Irene Mazzocchi, retired Region 6 NYSDEC Wildlife Biologist.

The New York State Tug Hill Commission is a non-regulatory state agency charged with helping local governments, organizations, and citizens shape the future of the region, especially its environment and economy. The commission uses a grassroots approach to build local capacity and provide technical assistance in land use planning, community development, and natural resource management.
