Intake is closed for surrenders and there are 57 cats and kittens coming back from foster including us, BeeBee(9-week-old female)and Mooney(9-week-old male). There is a kitten or adult cat, puppy or adult dog of every breed, color, size, age and disposition you could imagine.  So please come take a look and find a place in your heart and home for us. Barb said we are all Purr-fect in our own special way...." Check out pictures of all the cats, kittens, dogs and puppies at the shelter ready for adoption on our new Facebook page Lewis County Humane Society NY 501c3. The historic Lowville Village Band will open its 2024 summer concert series on Wednesday, July 3rd at 7 p.m. in beautiful Veterans Memorial Park. The concert will feature patriotic songs and marches including God Bless America, The Stars and Stripes Forever, Americans We, and A Patriotic Festival.  The band will salute our military branches with Armed Forces Salute. 

The playground at the park is open for the kids and food,  dinners, desserts and drinks will be available for purchase with Moose Knuckles food truck on hand from 5:30-8:00 p.m. Join us for a Lewis County Salute to America!

 

July 4th:

The village of Turin will hold their annual 4th of July Parade on Thursday, July 4th, commencing thru the village “West Main – East Main” with the route ending at the South Lewis High school. The parade will start at 11:00 AM

July 12th:

Join us for the 12th Annual Hon. John S. Parker Memorial Golf Tournament, for those over 50, hosted by the Constable Hall Association on July 12th, 2024 at Ledges Golf Course. Registration starts at 11:30 am with a shotgun start at 12:30 pm.  The format is a two-person Captain and Mate with flights for men women, and co-ed teams. The registration fee is $70 per two-person team and includes nine holes of golf, a cart, raffle prizes and best team scores.

To sign up, send a $70 check made payable to Constable Hall Association, Inc. with your team members names, flight, and contact information to Chris Panic at 5963 John Street, Constableville, NY 13325. You can also drop off your completed form and payment at Ledges Golf Course. Advance restrains are welcomed!

There will be raffle prizes draw throughout the day, as well as prizes for the best teams, closest to the pin, skins, 50/50 and a $100 lottery “tree” award. Hotdogs will be served at the end of play.

The Reformed Church, located at 1195 State Rt. 26, West Leyden, NY 13489, is sponsoring a Community Trunk Sale on Saturday, July 13th, from 10 am to 4 pm. In addition to the trunk sale, there will be a bake sale, Chinese auction, free ice cream sundaes, mission raffle tickets, cookbooks, fabric, yarn, and collectibles for sale. The Chinese Auction drawing will be at 4 pm. The proceeds will be used for the church fuel fund.
