MIDDLETOWN/LOWVILLE- Richard Edward
Doody, 89, of Middletown, Maryland, passed from this life on Saturday, June
15, 2024 after a short battle with cancer.
Born on February 15, 1935, in Lowville, NY,
he was the son of the late Edward and Florence
(Marmon) Doody.
Richard was a
1952 graduate of Lowville
Academy and Central School in Lowville, and attended
Long Island A&T. He worked for AT&T as a telecommunications
engineer for over 30 years. Richard also served with the United States
Marine Corps.
He is survived by
his son Brian (Janet) Doody, of Frederick,
MD, and his daughter Diane
(John) Cox of Salisbury, NC. Richard is also survived by his grandchildren
Rick Curran, Steve Curran, Taylor Wilson and fiancé Joshua Shaw, Connor
Wilson as well as 4 great grandchildren and special friend Pat Hesselbein.
Richard was
preceded in death by his wife Joanne Marie Doody, sisters Helen Doody and
Dorothy O’Brien, and children Andrea, Dennis, and Thomas. Richard has now
reunited with his family as an angel in Heaven.
A celebration of
Richard’s life journey will take place at 11 a.m. on Thursday June 20, 2024, at Stauffer Funeral Home, 1621
Opossumtown Pike in Frederick, Maryland.
The family will receive friends from 10
to 11 a.m. on Thursday
at the funeral home.
A committal
service with Rev. Douglas Decker, officiating, will be held at Lowville Rural Cemetery,
on Saturday, June 22nd at 11:00
A.M. with military honors to follow.
