Kevin Wayne Peebles
CASTORLAND – Kevin Wayne Peebles,
68, of State Route 410, passed away Friday afternoon, June 14, 2024 at his home.
Calling hours
will be from 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Sunday June 23, 2024
at Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville. The funeral will follow at 3:00 p.m. at
the funeral home, with Rev. Bruce W. Chapman officiating. Burial will be in
Martinsburg Cemetery. Contributions
may be made to Beaver Valley United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 127,
Castorland, NY 13620.
He is survived by
his beloved wife, Mona; three children, Jason Peebles and Nicolette of
Montague; Justin Peebles of Croghan; Alexis Peebles of Lyons Falls; two
grandsons, Timothy Rheaume and Kevin James “Little Kevy” Peebles; two
sisters, Candace R. Bezek of Pen Yan; Cheryl Remillard and her husband Tom
of Peru; nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is predeceased by a step-son, Trent
Shaw.
Kevin was born on
September 10, 1955 in Lowville, NY, a son of the
late Charles and Ardis Langley Peebles and graduated from Lowville Academy
in 1974. While in high school, Kevin
played football, and after high school he played for the Watertown Red
& Black football team for a short time.
He took over the family farm in 1985 and operated the farm until
1999. On April 29, 1995, he married
Mona Yousey at Beaver Valley United Methodist Church. Kevin drove truck
for Elmer Moser and Sons, Castorland, for many years until his retirement.
Kevin was a member
of Beaver Valley United Methodist Church.
He was a quiet,
simple man, and a hard worker who always tried to do the right thing while
avoiding controversy. He loved
deeply, but seldom voiced his feelings.
He was delighted to have a namesake grandson, and cherished spending
time with his family.
