JCC To Hold Information
Session for Access and Opportunity
Programs on July 9
Jefferson
Community College (JCC) will hold an information session for
its access and opportunity programs on Tuesday,
July 9, 2024, at 5:00 p.m. in the Fireside
Commons, Deans Collaborative Learning Center (Building 15). Both
prospective JCC students and current JCC students are welcome to attend,
regardless of their backgrounds or circumstances.
Attendees will
discover Jefferson’s newest opportunity program, Advancing Success in
Associate Pathways (ASAP), alongside the established Collegiate Science
& Technology Entry Program (CSTEP) and TRIO Support Services.
Information regarding accessibility, accommodating services, and the
College’s free summer programs will also be provided.
Opportunity
programs eliminate barriers that slow or hinder progress and facilitate the
completion of degrees. Program participants receive direct support
including financial assistance, paid internship opportunities, support
beyond the classroom, and counseling leading to degree completion on time
at the two-year level. There is no cost to join an opportunity program!
At the event,
Jefferson’s friendly staff will be available to speak about each program,
answer questions regarding eligibility guidelines, and recommend the
program that works best for the student. Additionally, students will have
the opportunity to apply on-site.
