Lowville, NY- A new mayor and
deputy mayor were appointed during a special meeting of
the Village of Lowville Board of Trustees on Monday
afternoon following the sudden resignation of former mayor Joe Beagle.
Trustee Dan
Salmon, who was serving as deputy mayor, was unanimously voted to serve as
the new mayor and he then moved to appoint Trustee Charles Terrillion as
the new deputy mayor.
The Board will
canvass the community before appointing an individual to fill Mr. Salmon’s
now vacant trustee seat. Anyone interested should submit a letter of
interest by February 26, 2025, in person or by mail, to the Village Clerk
at 5535 Bostwick Street, Lowville, NY 13367, or by email to villow@villageoflowville.gov.
Both the mayor
and trustee seat will be on the ballot in March of 2026 to fill the
remainder of the current terms (through March of 2027 for mayor and through
March of 2028 for the trustee seat).
