National Grid Still Reporting Over 1,300 Customers
Without Power in Lewis County on Monday Morning

Lewis County, NY-
National Grid is still reporting over 1,300 customers without power this
morning in Lewis County, as a result of the
windstorm that swept through the county on Saturday night.
As of 9:30 this
morning, 1,305 customers remain without power. The largest outage is in the
town of Croghan, where 396 remain without power. There are still 325
outages reported in the town of New Bremen , 284
in the town of Watson and 127 in the town of Diana. Outages are also still
reported in the towns of Denmark (33), Greig (58), Lowville (28), and
Montague (29). There are also a few scattered outages impacting 5 or fewer
customers reported throughout the county.
National Grid now
has estimated restoration times listed Between 6:00 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
this evening for many of the impacted locations.
Beaver Falls fire
hall will continue to be open today as a warming station for anyone needing
a place to go and warm up.
National Grid is
planning a dry ice distribution event at the Lewis County Education
Center, on the East Road in Lowville, from 12 to 4 PM on
Monday, December 13. Personnel will provide information on the proper
handling of dry ice, and customers are asked to bring a small cooler or
shopping bag to transport their dry ice home.
During the peak
of power outages resulting from the windstorm, nearly 6,800 of
the 14,796 National Grid customers in Lewis County were without service on
Saturday night, with many having powered restored throughout
the day on Sunday.
