Lewis County Court Activity Report for October 29,

Lowville, NY- The following
plea and sentencing activity took place in Lewis County Court on Friday,
October 29, with the Honorable Daniel R. King presiding:
Adam J. Bauer, 47, pleaded
guilty to one count of fourth-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon, a
class A misdemeanor. Sentencing in the case was adjourned to December 3,
when Mr. Bauer is expected to receive a 1-year term in the Lewis County
Jail, to be served concurrently with time owed to parole.
Allen T. Bray, 53, of
Copenhagen, had his terms of probation deemed unsuccessful and was instead
sentenced to serve 1 year in Lewis County Jail after admitting to violating
the terms of probation he was sentenced
to on December 4, 2020. Mr. Bray previously pleaded guilty
to one count each of
second-degree Attempted Burglary, a class D felony; second-degree Menacing,
a class A misdemeanor; and fourth-degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon, a
class A misdemeanor.
Brandi L. Brown, 36, of
Carthage, was sentenced to a period of interim conditions of probation for
one year on a charge of third-degree Criminal Mischief, a class E felony,
to which she pleaded
guilty to on August 13, when admitting to intentionally causing damage
to the vehicle of another individual on September 15, 2019 in the village
of Lowville. Final sentencing is scheduled for October 22, 2022. If
successful during the interim period of probation, Ms. Brown would receive
an additional 4 years under probation supervision. If unsuccessful, Ms.
Brown would be facing a 1-year term in the Lewis County Jail.
Derek J. Farr, 44, of Croghan,
pleaded guilty to one count of third-degree Criminal Possession of a
Weapon, a class D felony, admitting to possessing a dangerous and deadly
weapon while threatening a victim in the village of Lowville on June 5,
2020. Sentencing in the case was adjourned to December 3, when Mr. Farr is
expected to be placed under probation supervision for a 5-year period.
Chelsea F. Frost, 29, of
Carthage, pleaded guilty to one count of third-degree Burglary, a class D
felony, admitting to unlawfully entering a residence in the town of Croghan
on February 25, 2021, with the intent to commit a crime. Sentencing in the
case is scheduled for December 3, when Ms. Frost is expected to receive a
1-year term in the Lewis County Jail.
Joseph G.
Hutchins, 33, of Boonville, pleaded guilty to one count of Unauthorized Use
of a Motor Vehicle, a class A misdemeanor. Sentencing is set to take place
on December 3, when Mr. Hutchins is expected to receive 1-year in the Lewis
County Jail, to be served concurrently with time owed to parole.
Lloyd V. Lennox, 34, was
sentenced as a second-felony offender to serve 5 years in State prison and
7 years of post-release supervision on a charge of second-degree Burglary,
a class C felony, to which he pleaded
guilty to on August 13. At that time, Mr. Lennox admitted to entering a
residence on Maple Street in the town of Diana on March 14, 2020, with the
intent to steal property. He was additionally ordered to pay $375 in court
fees.
Patrick E. Mitchell, 45, of
Harrisville, had interim conditions of probation deemed successful and was
allowed to vacate a plea to second-degree Attempted Burglary, a class D
felony, and instead plead guilty to a charge of third-degree Attempted
Burglary, a class E felony, as stipulated in his original plea agreement.
He was then sentenced to an additional 3 years of probation supervision and
ordered to pay $375 in court fees. Mr. Mitchell’s original
plea occurred in Lewis County Court on December 20, 2019.
Charles E. Taylor,
Jr., 57, of Lowville, was sentenced to serve 3 years in State prison and
2 years of post-release parole supervision on charges of fifth-degree
Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance and fifth-degree Criminal
Possession of a Controlled Substance, both class D felonies, as well as a
misdemeanor count of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia. Mr. Taylor
entered guilty pleas to the charges on August 13, when he admitted to knowingly
selling methamphetamine to another individual on July 14, 2020 in the village of Lowville and possessing
methamphetamine with the intent to sell, along with envelopes to package
the substance, on September 08, 2020 in the village of Lowville. He was
additionally ordered to pay a total of $750 in court fees and $340 in
restitution.
Sierra Wetmore, 29, of Port
Leyden, was sentenced to serve 1-year in the Lewis County Jail after her
term of interim probation was deemed unsuccessful. She was placed on interim conditions of
probation on April 16 after pleading guilty to a charge of third-degree
Burglary, a class D felony, on March 5 when admitting to illegally entering
a Lowville business in March of 2020 with the intent to steal money. Ms.
Wetmore was additionally ordered to pay $375 in court fees.
