Lowville, NY- The Lewis County Board of Legislators will hold their November
meeting on Tuesday, November 6, starting at 5 p.m. in the second-floor board
room at the court house building in Lowville.

A pair of public hearings will begin at 5 p.m., one for an unsafe structure in the
Village of Lowville and one to hear input on a proposed local law seeking to
abolish the elected position of County Treasurer in favor of an appointed
    Director of Finance.

Legislators will also be presented with a copy of the 2019 Lewis County
Tentative Budget for review. A public hearing on the budget will be held on
November 20, with legislators having the opportunity to make changes through
resolutions at their December 5th meeting, if necessary. The tentative budget
has not yet been released, but includes a proposed property tax rate increase
    of 1.96%.

We sat down with Lewis County Manager Ryan Piche this afternoon for our
This Month in County Government segment, where we discuss all of the
above mentioned along with some of the resolutions the board will be
considering at tomorrow's meeting. You can see the full list of resolutions
    here.
