The $38.9 million proposal was about $5 million less than a similar $44 million project that was narrowly defeated by voters last December by a 545 to 463 vote. "It is a bittersweet approval as it is the turning of a page for the South Lewis District," Mr. Premo said via e-mail. "Our district was formed from many small communities in the 1960’s. Today we truly became South Lewis…one district…one building…one family. We must remember, recognize and appreciate the past while we look forward to the future with excitement and possibility."
