morning in Lewis County Court, with the Honorable Daniel R. King presiding: Brent J. Donahue, 29, was sentenced as a second-felony offender to serve 1 1/2 to 3 years in State prison on a charge of first-degree Scheme to Defraud, a class "E" felony, to which he pleaded guilty to on September 21. Sentencing in the case was set for October 26. He was additionally ordered to pay $300 in court fees. Mr. Donahue was accused of defrauding two individuals in the town of Croghan, between May 9 and May 11, 2018, by pretending to sell items on the Craigslist website and accepting payment without delivering the items. He was previously convicted of felony fourth-degree Grand Larceny in Franklin County in 2013. Deforest M. Flansburg, 58, of Constableville, was sentenced to serve five days in Lewis County Jail and five years of probation on a felony Driving While Intoxicated charge, to which he entered a guilty plea to on August 17. He was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine and $570 in court fees, in addition to attending a victim impact panel. His license will be revoked for one year, at which time he will be required to install an ignition interlock device. Mr. Flansburg was accused of driving while intoxicated on July 18 in the town of Lewis. The charge is a felony due to a previous DWI conviction in the town of West Turin on July 3, 2013. Joshua D. Mantle, 29, of Harrisville, pleaded GUILTY to an amended charge of second-degree Attempted Assault, a class "E" felony. Sentencing was set for December 7, when he is expected to be placed on interim conditions of probation.
