County Legislators Award Construction Contract
for JCC Educational Center at Special Meeting

    Lowville, NY- The Lewis County Board of Legislators this afternoon awarded a
    $1.82 million construction contract to DC Building Systems, Inc., of Watertown,
    for the site work, utilities and structural components of the JCC Educational
    Center.
    The center will be built on property obtained by the County on the East Road in
    Lowville.

    The vote was unanimous, with nine of ten legislators present. Legislator Bryan
    Moser was absent.

    Seven bids for the project were received in response to a Request for Proposal
    issued by the County.

    County Highway Department crews have prepared the site to 'site grade' status,
    with compaction testing also completed. Construction at the site is expected to
    begin soon.
