    Lowville, NY- A Croghan woman was sentenced in Lewis County Court on
    Thursday morning, with the Honorable Daniel R. King presiding, after
    unsuccessful completion of Interim Conditions of Probation.

    Alicia N. Babcock, 23, was sentenced on a charge of Aggravated DWI- With
    Child (also known as Leandra's Law), a class "E" felony. Ms. Babcock pleaded
    guilty to the charge and was placed on Interim Conditions of Probation on June
    10, 2016. She was back in court on November 4th, after a positive drug test
    violated her probation terms. Successful completion of the one-year interim
    probation term would have resulted in a reduction of the charge to a
    misdemeanor. Instead, Judge King sentenced her on the felony charge
    Thursday, resulting in a five-year probation term, a $1,000 fine, $570 in court
    fees, and a revocation of her driver's license for one-year. She was additionally
    ordered to install an ignition interlock device on her vehicle, as well as attend a
    Victim Impact Panel.

    Ms. Babcock was arrested after a property damage accident in the Town of
    New Bremen on July 18, 2015, with a young child in the vehicle.
