Lewis County Court Activity Report: Friday, April 07, 2017

    Lowville, NY- The following activity took place in Lewis County Criminal Court
    on Friday, April 07, 2017, with Judge Daniel R. King presiding:

    Sentencing:

    Lucas Boliver, 29, of Croghan, was sentenced to an intermittent term of 30
    days in Lewis County Jail and a 5-year probation term on an amended charge
    of fifth-degree Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance, a class "D" felony, to
    which he pleaded guilty on February 10th. Mr. Boliver will serve weekends in
    jail for the next 30 days, reporting at 6 PM on Fridays and released at 6 PM on
    Sundays. He additionally paid $50 in restitution and was ordered to pay $50 in
    court fees, as well as receiving a six-month suspension of his drivers license.
    He was accused of selling oxycodone on May 18, 2016, and was one of
    sixteen people arrested in the 'Operation Northern Watch' drug sweep in
    September.

    Nathan C. Burriss, 24, Lowville, was sentenced to an intermittent term of 60
    days in Lewis County Jail, to be served on weekends (6 PM Fridays through 6
    PM Sundays) and a six-year probation term on a charge of Sexual Misconduct,
    a class "A" misdemeanor, to which he entered a guilty plea on February 17th.
    He was additionally ordered to pay $1,300 in fines and court fees and must
    register as a Level 1 sex offender. An order of protection was issued on behalf
    of the victim. Mr. Burriss was accused of having sexual intercourse with a 16
    year-old female at a residence in the Town of Lowville in September of 2016.

    Jeffrey F. Jantzi, 39, Lowville, was sentenced to serve one year in Lewis
    County Jail on charges of Driving While Ability Impaired by Drugs, an
    unclassified misdemeanor and second-degree Aggravated Unlicensed
    Operation of a Motor Vehicle, also an unclassified misdemeanor, to which he
    pleaded guilty to on February 17th. He was additionally ordered to pay $950 in
    fines and court fees, attend a Victim Impact panel in November, and will have
    his drivers license revoked for a twelve month period. Mr. Jantzi was arrested
    after a crash on the Brantingham Road in the Town of Greig on August 28th,
    while operating a vehicle under the influence of marijuana and
    methamphetamine, with a suspended license.

    Derrick W. McDermid, 22, Deer River, was sentenced to a determinate term
    of 37 1/2 years in State Prison, with ten-years of post-release parole. He was
    also ordered to pay $375 in court fees.On January 17th, Mr. McDermid entered
    guilty pleas to one count of first-degree Manslaughter, a class "B" felony; one
    count of first-degree Assault, a class "B" felony; two counts of second-degree
    assault, class "D" felonies; and one count of Endangering the Welfare of a
    Child, a class "A" misdemeanor, satisfying all counts in the original indictment.

    Brittany N. Moshier, 24, Constableville, was sentenced to serve a five year
    probation term on two charges of Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance,
    class "D" felonies. She paid restitution of $88 and was ordered to pay $50 in
    court fees. Ms. Moshier was accused of selling meth on two occasions in the
    Village of Lowville in April of 2016, and was one of sixteen people arrested in
    the 'Operation Northern Watch' drug sweep in September.


    PLEAS:

    Sean L. Good, 27, of Watson, entered GUILTY pleas to charges of fourth-
    degree Criminal Possession of a Weapon, a class "A" misdemeanor and
    Leaving the Scene of a Property Damage Accident, a traffic violation.
    Sentencing was set for June 16th. Mr. Good was accused of possessing a
    hand gun with eleven rounds of ammo on January 15th in the Town of Watson
    during an accident, when he allegedly left the scene leaving the gun in the
    vehicle. He did not have a pistol permit in the State of New York.

    Kayla M. Meston, 23, of Port Leyden, was arraigned and entered GUILTY
    pleas to charges of third-degree Criminal Possession of a Controlled
    Substance, a class "B" felony and Unlawful Manufacture of Methamphetamine,
    a class "D" felony. Judge King then placed her on Interim Conditions of
    Probation and entered her into the county's Drug Court program. Sentencing
    was adjourned to April 06, 2018. Ms. Meston was accused of possessing
    methamphetamine and the agents to produce it on January 23rd in the Town of
    Watson.


    Arraignments:

    Casey J. Burke, 32, was arraigned on an indictment charging him with felony
    Driving While Intoxicated; first-degree Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a
    Motor Vehicle, a class "E" felony; Failure to Keep Right, a traffic violation; and
    Refusal to Take a Breathe Test. A trial date of October 23 was set. Mr. Burke
    is accused of driving while intoxicated and without a license on October 14th
    on State Route 26 in the Town of Lewis.
