Lowville- As summer continues to roll along and wind down, it won't be long and
    fall will be upon us. It may seem a ways off, but now is the time to start thinking
    about the 5th annual 'Paint the County Pink' event taking place during the month
    of October. This community wide effort is presented by the Lewis County
    General Hospital Fund for Hope to raise awareness of the importance of breast
    cancer prevention, detection, and treatment. There is no cost to participate in the
    event, which aims to transform Lewis County businesses and schools as they
    "Go Pink".

    Organizations can choose to be judged if they wish, in one of three categories,
    which are: Corporate- more than 50 employees, Business- less than 50
    employees, and School. A winner in each category will receive a travelling trophy
    as well as two tickets to the 8th Annual Breast Cancer Awareness Dinner, being
    held Tuesday, October 20th at the Lowville Elks Club.

    To take this a step further, linkinglewiscounty.com will be holding a
    'pinkinglewiscounty' contest, aimed to get individual residences involved in the
    action. More details on this will be forthcoming, but it's not too early to start
    thinking about participating, by coming up with a way to decorate your residence
    in an effort to raise awareness about breast cancer. We do know there will be
    some sponsored prizes in a number of categories, and all you have to do is
    submit a photo of your entry to be shared on our Facebook Page for our fans to
    choose their favorites! All the details should be finalized by the end of August ,
    and we will keep you posted so stay tuned!
