Lowville- Team Faith held their First Annual Relay for Life Softball Tournament
    at the Lewis County Fairgrounds on Saturday, August 8.

    "The tournament was fun and successful, raising just under $1,000 in the fight
    against cancer," organizer Caree Turck said. "We were down teams from what
    was expected the day of the event, with four teams playing double elimination
    instead of single elimination as planned," she continued.

    The random draw had The Misfits, captained by Michael Stanford, of Turin,
    playing Perfect Strangers with team captain Casey Turck of, Dadville. The Misfits
    won the first game by a 12-7 score. The second game featured Crazy Crew with
    team captain Trudy Roggie, of Lowville, and Those Guys captained by Alex
    Burke, of Great Bend. Those Guys came out on top with a 16-9 win.

    The Misfits & Those Guys battled in the winners bracket, with Those Guys
    putting together an 11-4 victory. In the losers bracket, Perfect Strangers took on
    Crazy Crew, with Perfect Strangers earning the 15-5 win.

    Perfect Strangers & The Misfits met up again in game 5, with another Misfits
    victory by a 15-5 score. The championship game featured Those Guys and The
    Misfits with Those Guys bringing home the tournament win.

    "All four teams enjoyed the beautiful sunshine, Chinese Auction and concession
    stand and spectators enjoyed the same with the "Kiddie Korner" to keep the kids
    busy." Ms.Turck said

    Team Faith and Lewis County Relay For Life would like to thank all the players,
    spectators, sponsors, donors, the Lewis County Fair & Lowville Little League for
    making this event such a success! Plans are already underway for next year.
