| Lyons Falls Festival Among Weekend Activities in Lewis County 07/09/15 11:30am |
Lewis County- With another summer weekend fast approaching, it's time to take our weekly look at some of the activities going on this weekend. As of now, it looks like a beautiful weekend in store as far as the weather goes, with temperatures in the upper 70's under sunny skies for Friday and Saturday. Sunday there could be a chance of showers and thunderstorms moving in, with a high temperature around 80, but it doesn't look to be a washout by any means.
Friday, July 10th- Turin Highlands Golf Course located at 4457 East Road in Turin. Registration at 11:30 AM with a shot-gun start at 12:30 PM. Registration is $60 per two person team, and includes cart, 9 holes of golf, refreshments and prizes. There is Two Person Captain and Crew and Flights for Men, Women and Co-Ed. For more information or to register call (315)397-2073. Eighth Annual Lyons Falls Festival: Saturday, July 11th- Riverside Park located at 6904 Laura Street in Lyons Falls. 9 AM - 12 PM. Children's Parade at 9:30 AM with the Lowville Village Band performing at 10:20 AM. There will be games, bouncy house, food and a tailgate sale Lowville Farmers Market: Saturday, July 11th- 8 AM - 2 PM at the Forest Park Pavilion located at the Lewis County Fairgrounds. Drive-Thru Chicken BBQ: Saturday, July 11th- 11 AM, Railway Historical Society of NNY Museum located at 9784 State Route 812 in Croghan. $7.50 for dinners, $5 for halves. Call (315)346-6848 for pre-orders First Annual Motorcycle Ride: Saturday, July 11th- Proceeds to benefit the Lewis County Hospital Foundation's Automated Breast Cancer Ultrasound Machine Fund. Registration 10 - 10 :45 AM at LCGH parking lot 6,with free coffee and donuts. Kickstands up at 11 AM. Ride begins at LCGH with stops at Skiff's, in Alexandria Bay, the FX Caprara HD Summer Party, in Adams, and ending at the Ridgeview Inn, in Lowville. Cost is $20 for driver and $10 for rider. Chicken BBQ: Saturday, July 11th- 11 AM at the Lewis County Fairgrounds. Hosted by Lowville Little League. Smoke on the Water- Watercross: Saturday, July 11th and Sunday, July 12th- Flat Rock Inn, Lowville Shootin' Trap For Trips: Sunday, July 12th- 8 AM, Carthage Rod and Gun Club, located at 4500 Cold Springs Park Road, in Carthage. Car Show: Sunday, July 12th- 9 AM - 3 PM at the Town of Diana Historical Museum, located at 2 Depot Street, in Harrisville. There will also be an ice cream social.
Saturday, July 11th- 11 AM at the Lowville American Legion Post 162. Benefit for 6-year-old girl with cancer. Chicken BBQ (halves only, take out only), Car Wash, Basket Raffles, Lottery Tree, Bottle & Can Drive. All proceeds help with transportation and other expenses not covered by insurance.
Castorland Fire Department, located at 5187 Route 410. Silent Auction, 50/50 Raffle. Dinner: Spaghetti and Meatballs or Baked Ziti, with salad, bread, beverage and dessert. Cost is $10 and includes one 50/50 raffle ticket. Proceeds to help defray chemotheropy and other medical expenses.
