| Carthage Man Faces Charges After Incident at Lowville Walmart 06/15/15 08:05am |
Town of Lowville- The Lewis County Sheriff's Department arrested a Carthage man Saturday afternoon, after receiving a 911 call from the Walmart store in the Town of Lowville. Deputies say that employees of the store allegedly observed Michael Spellan, 20, shoplifting from the store. Mr. Spellan then reportedly ran from the store into a wooded area after being confronted. The deputies were assisted by K-9 Wyman in flushing Mr. Spellan from the wooded area, and he was taken into custody without incident. He was charged with Petit Larceny, Unlawful Possession of Marijuana and Obstructing Governmental Administration in the second degree. Mr.Spellan was arraigned in Lowville Town Court and remanded to the Lewis County Jail on $250 cash bail or $500 bond.
