A Preview of the 195th Annual Lewis County Fair: July 21 - July 25

    Lowville- With less than a month to go before the 195th Annual Lewis County
    Fair gets underway, we wanted to give you a preview of what to expect this year!

    The fair will take place from July 21st - July 25th this year, with the theme  
    "Family Fun For Everyone". The theme was submitted by Holly J. Lyndaker, of
    New Bremen, and was chosen over more than 20 other entries by the
    Agricultural Society Board as the winner in the second annual Fair Theme
    Contest. By winning Ms. Lyndaker  received two grandstand tickets that are good
    for all shows at the fair this year.

    Free gate admission to the grounds will again highlight the fair this year. There
    will be a charge for grandstand entertainment on Wednesday night through
    Saturday night, and for on grounds parking. A five day parking pass will be $15
    or a daily rate of $5 will be offered.

    The fair will kick-off Tuesday, July 21st at 9 AM, with the 4H/FFA Horse Show.
    The Opening Ceremonies will be performed at 10 AM. The midway,operated by
    Coleman Brothers again this year, will open at 4 PM. The Lowville Village Band
    will perform beginning at 6:30 PM with the Annual Lewis County Fair Parade
    starting at 7 PM. Admission to the grandstand is free on Tuesday night!
    Following the parade will be a huge fireworks display at approximately 10:30 PM.

    Daily shows this year will include Johnny Peers' Muttville Comix, a slapstick
    comedy act featuring mostly rescue dogs, will be performing at 2 PM, 4 PM and
    6 PM. Slack Wire Sam, a daredevil act performed by Sam Johnson from season
    8 of America's Got Talent will be daily at 3 PM, 5 PM and 7 PM.

    This year will again feature theme days. Wednesday will be Children's Day/Dairy
    Day, sponsored by Kraft Foods. The midway will open at noon, with wristband
    ticket's being sold for $20 until 4 PM. The wristbands are valid until 6 PM.
    Grandstand entertainment Wednesday night will feature the 4x4 Truck Pull at 7
    PM. Tickets are $12 for adults and $8 for children ages 6 - 12. The Nelson
    Brothers Band will be performing from 9 PM - 11 PM at the Entertainment Island.

    Thursday will be Senior Citizen's Day sponsored by Croghan Businesses and
    Amerigas. Senior activities will be taking place throughout the day. The midway
    will open at 4 PM. "Midnight Madness" wristbands for the midway for all ages will
    be sold for $25 from 8 PM until 10 PM and will be valid until closing at midnight.
    The grandstand will feature the New York State Truck and Tractor Pull at 7 PM.
    Tickets will be $15 for adults and $10 for children ages 6 - 12.

    Friday will again be Children's Day and is sponsored by Lowville Elk Lodge
    #1605, Own Energy and V.S. Virkler. The midway will open at noon and
    wristbands will be sold for $20 from noon - 4 PM and will be valid until 6 PM.
    Grandstand entertainment  will start at 7 PM with the Patty Stanford Band,
    followed by a performance from country music star Canaan Smith at 8 PM. Track
    Side Festival Tickets are $25 and grandstand admission is $20.

    The fair will wrap-up on Saturday, July 25th, which is Family Day sponsored by
    Countryside Veterinary Clinic. The midway will open at noon with a wristband
    special being offered for $25 per person from noon - 4 PM, valid until 6 PM.
    Grandstand entertainment on Saturday will feature the annual Demolition Derby
    with the first run beginning at 1 PM and the second at 6 PM. Admission is $15 for
    adults and $10 for children 6-12, and is good for both derby events.

    As always there will be a variety of food and vendor displays throughout the
    Fairgrounds. As a reminder, dogs are not allowed on the fairgrounds during the
    fair except for Dog Show entrants on Saturday morning. (Officially recognized
    guide and service dogs are always welcome.) No skateboards or bicycles are
    allowed during the fair as well.
