The Great Pumpkin Race Celebrates Fall, Fitness &
Community
Lace up your
sneakers and grab your costumes—The Great Pumpkin Race is back at the Lewis
County Fairgrounds on Saturday, October 24, 2026. Whether you’re a
seasoned runner, a casual walker, or just looking for an excuse to wear
your favorite Halloween costume, this is the event for you! The Great
Pumpkin Race is the perfect way to enjoy the crisp fall air and support our
community hospital. The race course will take
participants through the heart of Lowville, surrounded by the colors and
crisp air of fall.
Costume prizes
will be awarded for the funniest, most creative and best group. All
participants will be entered to win door prizes and refreshments will be
served after the event. Need a little extra fuel? The Rolling Rebel Café
will be on-site with coffee and other beverages available for purchase.
Registration and
packet pickup starts at 8:00 am at the Fairgrounds Pavilion and the Race
starts at 9:00 am sharp. The race will be timed by Auyer Race Timing. You
can register at runsignup.com and search
the Great Pumpkin Race.
All participants
will receive a race medal. Participants that register by Friday, October
9th are guaranteed a shirt.

Funds raised from
the 5K Run will provide celebratory dinners from Jeb’s for new moms and
dads who welcome their baby at Lewis County General Hospital. It’s a
special way to celebrate the arrival of a new family member while
supporting care close to home.
The Lewis County
Hospital Foundation supports the Lewis County Health System by raising
funds to enhance patient care, expand services, and improve facilities.
Through community events, donor support, and community partnerships, the
Foundation works to strengthen healthcare for our rural community.
