Exciting News for School-Based Clinic Communities in
Lewis County!
Watertown, NY– THRIVE Wellness
and Recovery is proud to announce that our School-Based Clinics at
Copenhagen Central School, Lowville Academy, and South
Lewis Central School have expanded services and are now officially
designated to provide integrated mental health and substance use treatment
services for students starting September 1, 2026. In addition, our
school-based locations have been recognized as Certified Community
Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) Satellite Sites, bringing comprehensive,
coordinated care directly into the schools we serve. Even better, our
School-Based Clinics are now available five days per week, increasing
access to care and support when students and families need it most.
As Certified
Community Behavioral Health Clinic Satellite Sites, students have access to
the same high-quality services available through our main clinics in
Watertown and Lowville, including mental health counseling, substance use
treatment, care coordination, 24/7 crisis support, peer and family support
services, screening and assessment, psychiatric rehabilitation services,
and connections to additional community resources.
Doug Premo,
Superintendent of Schools at South Lewis Central School, shared, "We
are very pleased with the increase in the number of days and types of
services our students can receive here onsite. We appreciate THRIVE's
partnership to help make this happen."
Bridgette
Gillette, the 6-12 School Counselor at Copenhagen Central
added, "Having a clinical therapist in our school building five days a
week is an incredible resource for our students and families. It means
students can access mental health and substance use support when they need
it, without having to leave school or wait weeks for an appointment. Just
as importantly, having the therapist here consistently allows for stronger
relationships, collaboration with our school team, and earlier intervention
when students begin to struggle. We are incredibly grateful for this
expanded partnership with THRIVE and the opportunity to provide more
accessible, timely, and comprehensive support for the mental health and
well-being of our PreK-12 students."
By bringing
comprehensive behavioral healthcare into schools, we're helping remove
barriers to care, supporting student success, and strengthening the health
and well-being of our communities. These services are accessible,
integrated, and student-focused because every student deserves the
opportunity to THRIVE!
