Lewis County Youth Bureau Announces Availability of
Youth Development Program Funds

THE LEWIS COUNTY YOUTH BUREAU ANNOUNCES THE
AVAILABILITY OF: $21,244 in YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM (YDP) FUNDS
The Youth Bureau
is seeking applicants offering service/program opportunities for youth
during the Oct 1, 2026
to September 30, 2027 time
period.
Programs eligible
for Youth Development Program funding must meet the criteria below:
•
Serve youth under 21 years of age.
•
Provide community-level services, opportunities, and supports designed to promote positive youth development
across a wide variety, including but not limited to: Citizenship and Civic
Engagement (youth leadership, cultural competency, race equity, etc.)
o Community (youth
activism, mentoring, community service, etc.)
o Economic Security
(career development, life skills, etc.)
o Physical and
Emotional Health (seasonal activities like summer camp, opportunities for
creative expression, etc.)
o Education
(“out-of-school time” programming to support educational engagement)
o Safe Harbour/Anti-Trafficking activities, prevention, and
supports
o Family supports (conflict resolution supports like restorative
practices, etc.)
•
Programs must embed the principles of positive youth
development and promote the general well-being of youth by fostering the
following:
o Physical and
psychological safety; Appropriate structure; Supportive relationships with
adults and peers; Opportunities to belong (positive bonds with peers,
family, and community); Positive social norms; Support for efficacy;
Opportunities for skill building (opportunities to develop cognitive,
social, and emotional skills); Integration of family, school, and community
efforts (resources)
•
Focus on preventing contact with the juvenile justice
system and to reduce the number of youth entering formal court involvement
(e.g. reduce risk factors associated with arrest,
detention, or diversion referrals).

Tuesday October 13th, 2026
