LOWVILLE, NY - Lewis County
Health System is pleased to welcome Board-Certified Orthopedic Physician
Assistants Karen Fish, PA-C, and Sarah Finnigan, PA-C, to the medical
staff. The physician assistants will
see patients at Lewis County Orthopedics, located on the main hospital
campus, in Lowville.
"We are
delighted to welcome Physician Assistants Karen Fish, PA-C and Sarah
Finnigan, PA-C to the Lewis County Health System family,” stated Jeffery
Hellinger, MBA, Chief Executive Officer.
“As demand for orthopedic services and sports medicine care
continues to grow across our region, expanding our provider team is vital
and allows us to expand access for North Country residents.”
Karen Fish, PA-C,
is a retired U.S. Army Major with over 20 years of experience in orthopedic
surgery, primary care, and combat casualty care. She received her Master of Physician
Assistant Studies and Bachelor of Science from the University of Nebraska
College of Medicine/Interservice Physician Assistant Program, Omaha,
NE. She also earned an Associate of
Science degree in Medical Laboratory Studies at George Washington University
in DC. Fish is a member of the
American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA).
Sarah Finnigan,
PA-C, is a seasoned Physician Assistant with over 15 years of medical
experience in both the U.S. Army and the civilian sector. She received her Master of Physician
Assistant Studies and Bachelor of Science from the University of Nebraska
Medical Center/Interservice Physician Assistant Program in Omaha, NE. She also earned a Bachelor of Arts in
Public Relations and Advertising from Loyola University Chicago in Chicago,
IL. Finnigan is a member of the
American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) and the American
Association of Surgical Physician Assistants (AASPA).
In addition to
well-rounded orthopedic training and surgical assistant experience, Fish
and Finnigan received numerous honors and awards for their military
service. Before joining Lewis County
Orthopedics, Fish and Finnigan were affiliated with the North Country
Orthopedic Group in Watertown, NY.
Dr. Sean Harney,
Chief Medical Officer of Employed Practices at LCHS, says, “Delivering
healthcare requires a dynamic, well-trained team. Two additional advanced
practice providers will strengthen our clinical depth, further enhance
surgical support, reduce wait times, and provide
improved continuity of care from the clinic to the operating room."
