September 13th
The powerhouse Celtic
fusion duo Femme Celtique will bring a free, high‑energy
performance to the Lewis County Fairgrounds on Sunday, September 13 at 5:00
PM.
Femme Celtique—piper
Coreyanne Armstrong and percussionist
Meaghan Fuller—is known for delivering bagpipes and drums that create
unique rock and jazz with Celtic influences. Their performances ignite the
stage with a fierce blend, merging centuries‑old Celtic roots with
modern rock‑driven momentum. Visually dynamic and musically bold,
Femme Celtique offers a Celtic sound built for
the modern stage and an experience that resonates across generations.
Coreyanne Armstrong — Piper,
Composer, Performer
Coreyanne Armstrong’s public
presence is unmistakable: bold, humorous, high‑energy, and deeply
rooted in Celtic tradition. Her online persona reflects a performer who
lives at the intersection of skill and spectacle — a piper who can command
a festival field, crack jokes with fans, and then deliver a technically
flawless Highland set that shakes the ground.
A lifelong musician, she began classical
piano at age four and flute at age ten. After serving as an officer in the
U.S. Navy, she took up the Highland bagpipes and has now performed
professionally for more than 20 years. She is the newest member of the award‑winning
Celtic band THE ROGUES, touring from Connecticut to Texas, and
previously served as the resident piper for Hawaii’s premier Celtic
band, The Doolin Rakes.
Her online presence highlights her
versatility: blistering fast jigs, slow airs played with emotional depth,
and rock‑infused arrangements that show her signature style — where
tradition meets fire. She frequently posts rehearsal clips, humorous “piper
problems,” and behind‑the‑scenes snapshots from festivals and faires, giving fans a window into the life of a modern
Celtic performer.
She has performed with numerous Celtic
groups on Highland Pipes, Walsh Shuttle Pipes, and Irish whistle, and has
played with pipe bands in Hawaii, California, South Carolina, the United
Kingdom, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. Coreyanne
is currently a Grade 2 piper in the Eastern United States
Pipe Band Association.
Since 2019, she has been a featured
soloist and stage performer at Renaissance faires
nationwide, including King Richard’s Faire (MA), Connecticut Ren Faire,
Virginia Ren Faire, New Jersey Ren Faire, Sherwood Forest Faire (TX), VikingsCon (MD), and Scottish and Irish festivals
throughout New England. She leads multiple ensembles—including Pipe
Dream, The Coreys, Rogue & Raven, and Femme
Celtique—and frequently performs with
orchestras, choirs, and organists across New England. She also teaches new pipers and arranges pipe tunes for rock performance,
continuing her mission to carry tradition forward with unmistakable modern
energy.
Meaghan Fuller — Percussionist,
Performer, Artist
Meaghan Fuller’s musical life reads like
rhythm itself — winding, layered, and always moving. “I’ve wanted to play
the drums for as long as I can remember,” she writes, recalling childhood
visits to her aunt and uncle’s house in New England, where she would sneak
into the basement to play her uncle’s drum kit. Those early moments lit a
spark that never went out.
Her path to the drum kit took detours,
and those detours became the foundation of her sound. Meaghan began playing
hand percussion and bodhrán in 2002, eventually adding djembe, doumbek, and cajón. She also explored mandolin, tin
whistle, low D whistle, and guitar — a multi‑instrumental background
that gives her drumming its distinctive melodic sensibility.
Dance is woven deeply into her musical
identity. Trained in ballet, contemporary, Irish dance, and later belly
dance, she performed with bands, taught for years, and founded her own
troupe, Celtic Gypsies. Movement, musicality, and rhythm remain at the center
of everything she does, shaping the way she approaches percussion: rhythm
that moves, grooves that serve the song, and performance that feels alive.
In 2016, after a car accident left her
performing her first gig on crutches with a broken pelvis, she joined The
Rogues as their bodhrán player and later tenor drummer. What began
as another musical adventure turned into more than a decade of performing
with the award‑winning Celtic band. She also performed with Whiskey
Wagon on bodhrán, mandolin, and whistles, and in 2025 co‑founded Femme
Celtique.
Then came the drum kit — the instrument
she had wanted since childhood. She brought a Pearl kit back into her life
and went all in, building an entire room dedicated to drums. “Apparently
one does not simply ‘dabble’ in drums,” she jokes. In 2026, she stepped
onto a stage with a drum kit for the first time, performing live in front
of a crowd. And now, she says, she’s just getting started.
Between performances, Meaghan is a
professional artist and costumer, running her business Strike Daekins since 2006. She is also a full‑time
caretaker of her family’s hobby farm in Virginia and a proud mother of
three daughters. Her life blends creativity, movement, motherhood, and
music — a rhythm all its own.
Her influences span rock, punk, Celtic
rock, folk, alternative, and anything with a great groove. The drum kit may
be the newest chapter of her musical life, but rhythm has been there the
whole time.
A Family‑Centered Creative Team
Between them, they are raising eleven
children, all homeschooled and often traveling with the duo. Their
lives embody the message that creativity, family, and performance can
thrive together. They tour as mothers, makers, and musicians — women
who play loud, redefining what Celtic performance looks like and who
gets to lead it.
