AI-generated content may be incorrect.LOWVILLE- It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing away Rev. Joyce M. Woodcock, 74, of Cedar Street.

 

Joyce is survived by a brother-in-law, James Kellogg of Gastonia, NC, and a nephew, Aaron Kellogg of Gastonia, NC; several close cousins and many friends.  She is predeceased by her husband, Larry; and a sister, Gwendolyn T. Kellogg.

 

Joyce was born on October 5, 1951 in Lowville, NY, a daughter of the late Carl A. and Ruth M. Mosher Thoma and graduated from Lowville Academy in 1969.  She also graduated from SUNY Plattsburg in 1972 with a B.S. Degree in Secondary Education/Math.  On July 19, 1975, she married Lawrence E. Woodcock at Lowville United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Nay officiating.  She began Pastoral Ministry in 2002.  Larry passed away on June 29, 2004.  Joyce graduated from United Theological Seminary, West Seneca, NY in 2004 with her Master’s Degree in Divinity.  Joyce served as a Pastor for Barnes Corner’s United Methodist Church, Beaver Falls United Methodist Church, Beaver Valley United Methodist Church, Woolworth Memorial United Methodist Church, Great Bend, Champion United Methodist, Carthage United Methodist Church, Watertown First Methodist Church and Martinsburg United Methodist Church.  Joyce was a quality control technician for Kraft in Lowville from 1973-2002.  She was a member of the Champion Grange.  Joyce loved her Lloyd’s of Lowville friends and her pets.

 

A memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday August 25, 2026 at Lowville United Methodist Church with Rev. Bruce W. Chapman, Pastor Beth Monnat and Pastor Holley De Lapo officiating.  A meal following in the church fellowship hall, all are welcome.  Private burial will be in West Lowville Rural Cemetery at the convenience of the family.  There are no calling hours.  In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in memory of Joyce to Lewis County Humane Society, P.O. Box 682, Lowville, NY 13367.  Arrangements are with Iseneker Funeral Home, Inc., Lowville.
