LCHS Hosting Free
Dementia Community Education Programs
LOWVILLE, NY – Lewis County
Health System is hosting educational opportunities to learn more about
Dementia. These trainings will increase community understanding of dementia
and provide a wide range of resources for individuals, caregivers and
families to support them in caring for individuals with dementia. The trainings are instructor-led by Jesica Nichols, RN, BSN,
PAC-CDT/L. There is no cost to attend,
and education materials and light refreshments will be provided.
Community
Dementia Education Workshops: This two-hour training is open to
anyone interested in learning more about dementia and gaining a better
understanding of how to support individuals living with dementia. (RSVP Required)

September 1, 2026 – 6:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m. or
·
September 8, 2026 – 1:00p.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Dining with
Dementia - Participants will use various devices and activities that simulate
the challenges individuals living with dementia may experience. (RSVP Required
by 9/7)

September 14, 2026 – 4:00p.m. to 6:30p.m.
Care Partner
Education Series (5-weeks): This five-week training
is designed for anyone who supports or cares for an individual living with
dementia. (RSVP Required)

Daytime Series:
9/10, 9/17, 10/1,
10/8 (10:00am to noon) and 9/24 (2:00p.m.-4:00p.m.) or
·
Evening Series:
9/21, 9/28, 10/5,
10/12, 10/19 (4:00p.m. to 6:00 p.m.)
