Jefferson Accepting Applications for Fall Allied Health Precertification Training

Watertown, NY — Jefferson Community College (JCC) is now accepting applications for its fall allied health precertification training programs, offering individuals a fast, affordable pathway to in-demand healthcare careers. Training begins in September.

Designed to prepare students for employment in some of the region's fastest-growing healthcare fields, JCC's hands-on training programs are available for individuals pursuing careers as clinical medical assistants, dental assistants, medical billers and coders, pharmacy technicians, and phlebotomy technicians. In-person classes begin in September and are offered on the JCC campus in Watertown, at Fort Drum, and at the Lewis County JCC Education Center in Lowville. Additional allied health training options are available online through flexible, rolling enrollment.

Students who successfully complete an eligible program may have the opportunity to participate in an optional externship with a local healthcare organization, gaining valuable real-world experience before entering the workforce. Graduates are also eligible to sit for a nationally recognized certification examination in their chosen field, providing a credential recognized by employers across the country.

Multiple funding opportunities are available to help eligible students reduce or eliminate the cost of training, including:

  • SpouseWorks Scholarships (formerly MyCAA) – for military spouses
  • Army Credentialing Assistance (CA) Program
  • Caring Gene® Career Pathways Training Program
  • The WorkPlace grant funding for qualifying individuals

Military spouses applying for SpouseWorks (formerly MyCAA) scholarships are encouraged to apply as soon as possible to ensure timely processing.

In partnership with Condensed Curriculum and Ed2Go, Jefferson also offers online allied health training programs in EKG Technician, Dialysis Technician, Veterinary Assistant, and Personal Care Assistant. These fully online programs feature rolling enrollment, allowing students to begin training at a time that fits their schedule.
