Historic Lowville Village Band to Conclude 200th
Anniversary Celebration August 5th with Final Concert of the Season

Final Concert of the Historic Lowville Village Band's
200th Anniversary
Lowville, NY- The Historic
Lowville Village Band will conclude its 200th Anniversary
Concert Series on Wednesday, August 5, in Veterans Memorial Park. The
concert will begin at 7:00 PM.
Besides
spectacular music of all genres and styles, many other events will be
taking place. The final concert will include John Philip Sousa's and
the United States National March "The Stars and Stripes
Forever". Also, for the first time in decades, the LVB will
perform Sousa's "The Fairest of the Fair" March often referred to
as his most melodious march. Also, new for this concert will be a
medley of songs from the musical "Annie". Songs heard in the
medley included "Hard Knock Life", "Maybe", and of course
the endearing "Tomorrow". Little Orphan Annie will not be
upstaged as the band will also perform a challenging medley from the
musical about an orphan boy named "Oliver!" Also, being premiered on this concert
is the song "Summertime" from the show "Porgy and Bess"
by George Gershwin. A tribute to the bands 200th; "America, The Beautiful" has been
specially arranged by the bands own Don
Farmer. Mr. Farmer has performed with the band for many years and at
the age of 97 still performs to this day with the LVB! Other songs
that will be performed include a Disney Medley, Fate of the Gods, Jai -Ho,
and Copacabana.

- 200 free hotdogs beginning at 5:45 PM
- Face Painting and Balloon Animals
- Yard Games and playground for the kiddos
- Food and Desert Trucks at 5:45 PM throughout
the concert - Moose Knuckles and Katey
Bakes.
- Proclamation by Gov. Kathy Hochul for the
bands 200th Anniversary
- Salute to the Armed Forces with the
performance of "Armed Forces
Salute"
- IN CASE OF RAIN THE CONCERT WILL TAKE PLACE
AT THE FAIRGROUNDS OR THE FOLLOWING WEDNESDAY. See the Lowville

tremendous amount of support and encouragement from the community and
special guests throughout the summer concert series and the 200th Anniversary
Celebrations. We hope to see you at the final concert of the season for the Lowville Village Band.
The summer
concert series will conclude next week, on Wednesday, August 12, when the
Lowville Community Pop and Jazz Group, the Lowville Jazz Orchestra will
present a concert in the park at 7:00 PM
