DEC Announces Temporary Access Restrictions at
Lowville Office
Maintenance and Paving Work Will Limit Access; Main
Parking Area Closed August 17 to 21
The New York
State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) today announced
upcoming maintenance and paving work at the DEC Region 6 Lowville Suboffice
in the town of Lowville, Lewis County. The main office will remain open
during the work.
DEC will
temporarily close the main office parking area from
August 17 through August 21 to allow crews to complete
paving and related maintenance. The closure is weather dependent, and
visitors should follow all posted signs and directions at the
facility.
During the
parking area closure, vehicles will not be able to access the pond and
marsh parking area. The fishing deck located on Black
River off Waters Road will remain available as an alternative
fishing location.
The Lowville Demonstration Area will remain open.
Visitors accessing the Demonstration Area should park at the picnic area
and enter the property through the Arboretum entrance.
DEC encourages
visitors to use caution around active work areas and to follow all
posted signs and temporary access restrictions.
For questions
about the closure or access to the property, contact the DEC
Region 6 Lowville office at 315-376-3521.
