FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
UP TO $55,000 IN FUNDING AVAILABLE THROUGH THE FUTURE
STORIES FUND
LOWVILLE, NY – Eligible
non-profit organizations, municipalities, schools, healthcare institutions,
for-profit businesses and government entities are invited to apply for up
to $55,000 in funding through the Future Stories Fund, a grant program of
the Lewis County Community Services Board.
The Future
Stories Fund supports organizations and entities of all sizes in addressing
the impacts of the opioid overdose epidemic. Funding is made possible
through recent opioid settlement distributions to Lewis County. Programs
that address one of the priority areas below will receive priority
consideration, though other approved uses are also
eligible:
Priority Area #1 - Support efforts
to discourage or prevent opioid use initiation and the misuse of opioids.
This category focuses on upstream
strategies that address the root causes of drug use and overdose by
strengthening community institutions and creating opportunities for youth
and families to participate in meaningful, purpose-driven activities.
Priority Area #2 - Support people
in treatment for and recovery from Opioid Use Disorder and co-occurring
substance use disorder or mental health conditions.
This category includes strategies
designed to improve access to treatment and recovery resources within Lewis
County.
The application
period for the Future Stories Fund is now open. Eligible entities are
encouraged to submit their applications before the September 4, 2026 deadline. For more information about the program,
