LYONS FALLS- William L.
“Willie” McDougall, 81, of Lyonsdale Road, passed away on Friday afternoon,
July 3, 2026 at his home, under the loving care of
his family and Lewis County Hospice.
Calling hours
will be from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 Noon on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at Lyons Falls Bible Fellowship, 3938 NY-12, Lyons
Falls, NY. A funeral service will
follow at 12:00 Noon at the church with Pastor Jeff Ford officiating. A luncheon at the church will immediately
follow the funeral, all are welcome.
Any food donations may be taken directly to the church on Wednesday
morning. Burial will be held at the
convenience of the family in Wildwood Cemetery, Lyons Falls. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be
made to Lyons Falls Fire Department, P.O. Box 520, Lyons Falls, NY 13368 or
Friends of Lewis County Hospice, P.O. Box 266, Lowville, NY 13367.
He is survived by
two sons and a daughter-in-law, Michael J. McDougall of Watertown; Kevin C.
and Kathy McDougall of Lyons Falls; two grandchildren, Tracy (Jerry)
Millard of Constableville; Jeremy (Courtney) Hastwell
of Lyons Falls; six great-grandchildren, Michayla Millard, Cory Millard,
Olivia Millard, Carter Hastwell, Bryce Hastwell, Owen Hastwell; siblings,
John M. McDougall of Phoenix, NY, Betty Jean Fox of Boonville; Raymond E. and
Ruthie McDougall of Lyons Falls, Ellen L. Fuller of Florda, Wayne A. and
Vicky McDougall of Phoenix, NY; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his beloved wife, Jeanne; his siblings, Edward B. McDougall, Delia R.
Brooks, Leonard R. McDougall, Franklin D. McDougall, Elwood E. McDougall, Terry
J. McDougall, Harold J. McDougall.
William was born
on July 6, 1944 at home in Lyonsdale, NY, a son of
the late Bert R. and Anna Louise Sweeney McDougall and graduated from Port
Leyden School in 1962. He worked for
area businesses before his marriage.
On August 17, 1968, he married Jeanne Marie Bartelotte in Port
Leyden, NY. Willie went to work for
Climax Manufacturing in Castorland, and later in Lowville for more than 36
years, until his retirement in 2008.
He was an active
member of Lyons Falls Bible Fellowship.
Willie was
actively involved with the Lyons Falls Fire Department cooking meals at the
Lyons Falls Farmer’s Market for many years.
He loved his dogs, Rockey and Gizmo, they were his world. Willie loved family gatherings with the
grandkids and great-grandkids. He had a loved for the NY Yankees and NY
Giants.
