AI-generated content may be incorrect.MARTINSBURG- Carla Ann Adams, 66, of State Route 26, passed away on Monday July 13, 2026 in the comfort care room at Lewis County General Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

 

She is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 48 years, Richard; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Nathan L. (Jessica) Adams, and Matthew Adams; five grandchildren; two sisters, Lucinda “Cindy” Overton, and Roxanne (Randy) Morak; a nephew, Jason (Lisa) Overton; and many additional nieces and nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.  She is predeceased by two brothers, Jeffrey Overton Sr. and Carlyle Overton Jr.

 

Carla was born on September 27, 1959 in Lowville, NY, a daughter of the late Carlyle Leo Overton Sr. and Laura Lucille Dealing Overton.  She graduated from Lowville Academy and Central School.   On August 26, 1978, she married Richard Allen Adams at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Lowville.  Carla cared for her family and was a homemaker.  She enjoyed reading, puzzles, playing cards, watching game shows and word search books.  Most of all, Carla enjoyed spending time with her family.

 

All are welcome to attend a graveside service at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday July 23, 2026 at Martinsburg Cemetery.  There are no calling hours or funeral services.  A luncheon at 3-G Fire Department will immediately follow the graveside service, all are welcome.  Any food donations may be taken directly to the firehall on Thursday beginning at 10:00 a.m. Contributions may be made in memory of Carla to: Martinsburg Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 143, Martinsburg, NY 13404 or 3-G Fire Department, P.O. Box 112, Glenfield, NY 13343.
