LCHS Welcomes New
Women’s Health Provider
LOWVILLE, NY─ Lewis County
Women’s Health Center welcomes Family Nurse Practitioner Anastasia Melnyk,
FNP, to the medical staff. Anastasia joins OB/GYN physicians Georges Akl,
MD, Adewale Adegbenro, MD, and Family Nurse Practitioner Danah Ernst,
FNP-C, to help care for women in the North Country. She will see patients
at the Women’s Health Center, located on the second floor of the hospital's
Medical Arts Building in Lowville.
“We are excited
to welcome Anastasia to the Women’s Health team,” stated Sean Harney, MD,
Chief Medical Officer of Employed Medical Practices. “Anastasia brings a
strong background in women’s healthcare, with experience in maternity,
NICU, and postpartum care, which supports the patients she will serve.”
Anastasia is
certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). She
earned a Master of Science in Nursing (Family Nurse Practitioner) from Le
Moyne College, Purcell School of Professional Studies, Syracuse, New York.
She also earned a Master of Public Health from Upstate Medical University,
with a concentration in Population Health for Clinicians, along with a
Bachelor of Science in Nursing and an Associate in
Applied Science in Nursing from Le Moyne College and St. Joseph’s
College of Nursing, Syracuse, NY. She also earned a Bachelor of Science in
Biology and Society, with a minor in Science and Technology Studies, from
Cornell University’s College of Agriculture and Life Sciences in Ithaca,
NY.
“Anastasia’s
impressive clinical background and dedication to patient-centered care make
her an excellent addition to our medical staff,” said Gerald R. Cayer,
Chief Executive Officer of Lewis County Health System. “Her arrival
reinforces our ongoing commitment to expanding access to high-quality,
comprehensive healthcare services for women and families throughout the
North Country.”
Anastasia grew up
in the greater Syracuse area and returns to the
North Country from GraceMed Capitol Family Clinic
in Topeka, Kansas. Her experience includes routine gynecological care,
prenatal care, care for peri- and postmenopausal women, breastfeeding
support, mother-baby care, care for newborns during and post-delivery, and
neonatal intensive care at the NICU Level IV Crouse Hospital, Syracuse, NY,
El Paso Children’s Hospital, El Paso, TX, UC Davis Health Children’s
Hospital, Sacramento, CA, and a Level III NICU at Maple Grove Hospital,
Minneapolis, MN.
Family Nurse
Practitioner Melnyk said she is excited to join the Women’s Health team.
“My goal is to build strong, trusting relationships with my patients here
in Lewis County while delivering exceptional, personalized women’s health
care.”
