Castorland Community Celebrates Agriculture with 140
Tractors Participating in 15th Annual July 4th Tractor Parade

Castorland, NY- Approximately
140 tractors participated in the 15th edition of the July 4th Tractor
Parade in Castorland this year. This parade is different than all other parades,
with no fire departments, trucks, cars, bands, political ads, etc., only tractors!
The focus is to promote agriculture in Lewis County as it is the biggest
industry in the county. Event coordinators Clifford Lehman and Mark
Birchenough, along with numerous other volunteers, help with putting together
this event. Hundreds of spectators lined the 2-mile parade route, which started
at the Castorland Fire Hall, going through the village to Beller’s Auto Repair,
returning back through the village across the Black
River and ending at Crossroads Tavern in Naumburg. Organizers express a big
thank you to event sponsors Sydenstricker Nobbe Partners, Whites Farm
Supply, Logans Equipment, Burrville Power
Equipment, Crossroads Tavern and new this year Steve Shannon Tire (formerly
Cheney Tire).
