MARTINSBURG – Victor Reese
Ingersoll, 92, of Trinity, Alabama, passed away peacefully at home on
Sunday, June 21, 2026, under the care of his loving family and Hospice of
the Valley.
Victor was born
on November 29, 1933,
in Martinsburg, New York, the son of the late Ottis
Aaron and Anna Belle (Thayer) Ingersoll. He attended school in Martinsburg
and proudly served in the United States Army during the Korean War.
On August 14, 1956, he married
Corinne Mae Rebb, in a ceremony officiated by Judge Moran. Vic was employed
by Widrick & Sons in Lowville as a mechanic for 40 years. He and
Corinne made their home in Martinsburg until moving to Trinity, Alabama, where they
resided with their grandson, David, and his Ingersoll family.
He is survived by
his beloved wife of nearly 70 years, Corinne; two sons, Martin A. (Susan)
Ingersoll of Gresham, SC; and Dion P. (Valerie) Ingersoll of Moulton, AL; a
daughter-in-law, Corinna M. “Sam” (Rick) Greenfield, Clarksville, TN;
14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He is also survived by two brothers, Robert (Cindy) Ingersoll and Harvey
(Mary) Ingersoll, as well as several nieces and nephews.
In addition to
his parents, Victor was predeceased by four brothers, Walter S. (Evelyn)
Ingersoll, Edward O. (Theresa) Ingersoll, Donald N. (Reba) Ingersoll, and
George H. (Muriel) Ingersoll.
Victor was a
proud 50-year member of the Martinsburg Fire Department, and a member of
the American Legion in Albany,
New York.
Calling hours for
family and friends will be held on Tuesday, August 25th from 2
to 4pm and 6 to 8:00pm, at the Sundquist Funeral Home.
A graveside
service with military honors will be held at Martinsburg Cemetery
on Wednesday, August, 26th at 2:00pm.
