Frances is survived by two children, Joe (Sheree) Boshart of Lowville and Catherine (John) Cory of Port Leyden; two grandchildren, Joseph (Val) White and Dan Boshart;  four great-grandchildren, Elyse, Raelynn, Joseph and Anthony; a brother, Wesley (Barb) Clair of Boonville; a sister-in-law, Alice “Ki” Dolan of Holland Patent; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.  She is predeceased by her beloved husband, Gerald Joseph Boshart; three sisters, Mary Doris Burk, Mary Lois Manning and Laurine Baxter.

 

Frances was born on December 14, 1936, in McKeever, NY, a daughter of the late William Wesley and Rosilda Doucet Clair.  She graduated from Lyons Falls High School.  On January 31, 1959, Fran married Gerald Joseph Boshart Jr. at St. John's Catholic church in Lyons Falls.  She attended Forest Presbyterian church in Lyons Falls and was a communicant of St. John's Catholic Church and a member of St. John’s Altar and Rosary Society.  Fran enjoyed volunteering at Forest Finds Thrift Shop and making and serving meals at both churches.  She was involved with the Lyons Falls alumni, serving as their secretary for many years.  Fran was involved with the Lyons Falls History Association, Lyons Falls ALIVE, Santa Claus visitation, and Red Hatters.  She worked at Victory Market, later named Great American for 36 1/2 years when she retired.  Fran was always making food for people, loved to take walks, and enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbors. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Fran also loved her cats and dogs.  Fran was so kind and loving to everyone she met, new friends and old friends alike.

 

A graveside service will be held on Monday, June 29, 2026 at 10:30 A.M. at Wildwood Cemetery with Deacon James Chaufty officiating.  A celebration of life gathering will be held at St. John’s Catholic Church Fellowship Hall immediately following the burial, all are welcome.  Food donations may be taken directly to the fellowship hall on Monday June 29, 2026 beginning at 8:30 a.m.  In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Lewis County Humane Society, P.O. Box 682, Lowville, NY.
