AI-generated content may be incorrect.WATERTOWN, NEW YORK – The Tug Hill Commission invites the public to join a webinar on Thursday, June 25 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., focused on helping communities understand why data center interest is increasing in rural regions, what developers are looking for, how the industry is evolving, and what proactive planning actions communities can take now. This webinar will give participants the opportunity to hear from Camoin Associates about the types and scales of data center facilities, site selection criteria, and the continuous evolution of the industry. The Tug Hill Commission’s planning director Matthew Johnson will provide information on local land use tools and regulations that are available for municipalities to regulate data centers within their communities.

 

 

 

The New York State Tug Hill Commission is a non-regulatory state agency charged with helping local governments, organizations, and citizens shape the future of the region, especially its environment and economy. The commission uses a grassroots approach to build local capacity and provide technical assistance in land use planning, community development, and natural resource management.
