AI-generated content may be incorrect.LYONS FALLS - Edwin P. Sinclair, 79, died early Sunday morning, May 17, 2026 at Roswell Park Cancer Institute of Buffalo, where he had been a patient since April.

 

Ed was born on October 29, 1946 in Princeton, Illinois the son of the late Paul and Marjorie (Smith) Sinclair. He was a graduate of Lowville Academy. He retired from Lyons Falls Pulp & Paper after 40 years of service. He was united in marriage to the love of his life, Joan Ann (Wood) Darling on November 25, 1995 at the Port Leyden Fire Hall with James Szewczyk, officiating.

 

Ed and Joan made their home in Lyonsdale and loved spending winter months in Myrtle Beach. Joan died on September 9, 2022.

 

Ed was a life member of the Lyons Falls Fire Department where he drove ambulance. Ed and good friend Richard Ross owned and operated 21st Century Fire Equipment.

 

He is survived by his six children, Marie, Paul, Robert, Bruce, Becky, and Greg, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, and his Darling family.

 

Family and friends are invited to join us for a graveside service honoring the life of Ed, and with his wife Joan, will be laid to rest together at Wildwood Cemetery on Saturday, June 20th at 11:00am, Rev. Elizabeth Smith, Pastor of Forest Presbyterian Church, officiating. The Lyons Falls Fire Department will also render honors in recognition of Ed's volunteer service to the department. A Celebration of life will follow at the Lyons Falls Park with a luncheon.
