Lowville, NY- The Lowville
Academy and Central School District will hold their annual Budget Hearing
meeting on May 11, 2026, at 6:30 p.m. in the elementary school cafeteria,
to present the 2026-27 spending plan.
The proposed $32,073,124
budget for the 2026-2027 school year is a $647,591 (2.06 percent) increase
over the $31,425,533 approved for the current school year. The tax levy,
the amount to be collected through taxes, is proposed to increase by 3.99
percent ($205,017) from $5,138,260 to $5,343,277. This is within the
district’s allowed tax cap increase
calculated by New York State, meaning the budget vote will require a simple
majority of voters for approval.

budget vote and Board of Education election will take place on Tuesday, May
19, from 12:00 p.m. to
8:00 p.m., in the

There are three
incumbent candidates seeking re-election to the Board of Education
unopposed. The candidates for the three seats are Cheyenne Steria,
Stephanie Houser Fouse, and Steven Fuller.
