LEWIS COUNTY
HEALTH SYSTEM ANNOUNCES APPOINTMENT OF ITS NEXT CHIEF NURSING OFFICER
LOWVILLE, NY─ Lewis County
Health System is pleased to announce the appointment of Emily J. Paulsen,
RN, as its next Chief Nursing Officer (CNO). Currently serving as the
health system’s Staff Development Coordinator, Emily will officially assume
her new role on May 22, 2026.
"Emily
brings more than 26 years of nursing experience to this position,"
stated Gerald R. Cayer, LCHS Chief Executive Officer. "Under her leadership, the hospital
and health system will continue to evolve and thrive, to support the health
needs of our community."
Mrs. Paulsen is a
graduate of the Jefferson Community College nursing program, Watertown, NY,
and earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Binghamton University,
Binghamton, NY. Her extensive
background includes leadership, staff education, policy management,
surgical services, pain management, and cardiopulmonary intensive care.
In her new role, Emily
will oversee nursing operations across Lewis County Health System, leading
clinical and administrative operations for patient care services. She will
be responsible for the day-to-day coordination of the Nursing Department in
our acute care facility and will ensure continued compliance with all
regulatory agencies.
Regarding her
appointment, Emily stated: “I am excited to begin a new chapter in my
career and look forward to working with the nursing leadership, medical
staff, and the larger health system team to help ensure patients and their
families continue to receive compassionate, quality care at our facility.”
Marcy Teal will
retire as Chief Nursing Officer on May 21, 2026. She and Emily,
working closely together, will ensure a smooth leadership transition.
