Jefferson Inducts 56 Students into Tau Xi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society

Watertown, N.Y. – Fifty-six (56) Jefferson Community College (JCC) students have joined the College’s Tau Xi Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) Honor Society, the official international honor society for two-year colleges. Jefferson recognized the new inductees during its annual PTK induction ceremony on Tuesday, May 5, 2026.

Each inductee exemplifies the society’s four hallmarks: scholarship, leadership, service, and fellowship. Their academic excellence is matched—and often surpassed—by their commitment to sharing their time and talents with the community.

To be eligible for membership in Phi Theta Kappa, students must earn and maintain a grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.5 and complete a minimum of 12 credit hours of college-level coursework at JCC.
