Harrisville, NY- The Harrisville
Central School District will hold their annual Budget Hearing meeting on
May 11, 2026, at 5:30 p.m. in the school library, to present the 2026-27
spending plan.
The proposed $11,494,928
budget for the 2026-2027 school year is a $36,816 (0.32 percent) decrease
over the $11,531,744 approved for the current school year. The tax levy,
the amount to be collected through taxes, is proposed to increase by 3.99
percent ($184,000) from $4,608,500 to $4,792,500. This is within the
district’s allowed tax cap increase calculated by New York state at 4.33
percent, meaning the budget vote will require a simple majority of voters
for approval.
The district’s
budget vote and Board of Education election will take place on Tuesday, May
19, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., in the school library.
One seat on the
Board of Education is up for election, currently held by Board President

for the seat. We’ll update prior to the vote on May 19th when candidates
are verified.
