AI-generated content may be incorrect.LOWVILLE - Susan Marie White, 82, formerly of Shady Avenue and Lowville Heights, passed away early Sunday evening, April 12, 2026, at the Lewis County Residential Health Care Facility, where she had resided since 2023.

 

Sue was born on September 17, 1943, in the town of Winfield. She was the adopted daughter of Leo Raphael White and Lucy Jeanette (Dodge) White. She attended Ilion schools and completed nurse’s aide training through BOCES, as well as childcare training through Cornell Extension.

 

In 1989, Sue moved to the Lowville area, where she devoted many years to caring for others. She worked in healthcare as a nurse’s aide, providing private care, and was also involved in childcare throughout Lowville area. She later retired from Head Start, where she served as a bus aide.

 

Sue was predeceased by her adoptive parents of Leo and Lucy White and families.

 

Later in life, she was reunited with and befriended by her biological family, including Edward, Howard, Charles, and Emy Brown.

 

She was an active member of the Lowville United Methodist Church. Sue enjoyed the nursing home activities and her visiting friends. A Special Thanks to the 4th Floor Staff for their care and compassion.

 

A calling hour will be held on Thursday, April 16th from 12 Noon until 1:00pm, followed by a funeral service with Paul Little, Pastor, of Community Assembly of God, officiating.

 

A private burial will take place in Armory Hill Cemetery, Ilion.
