CLINTON, NY – Donald Orville
Henry, 89, of Clinton, NY, passed away peacefully Thursday, April 9, 2026. Donald
was a devoted husband and father, who enjoyed traveling with his family,
gardening, camping, genealogy & family reunions, old cars, maps, and
ice cream, even in winter!
A funeral service
will be held at Lowville Mennonite Church, Lowville, NY on Friday, April 17,
2026 at 1 p.m. with Rev. Evan Zehr
officiating. Calling hours will be
held from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m., prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow the service in
Kirschnerville Mennonite Cemetery.

Surviving are a daughter, Adonia Henry and her husband, William
Smith of King Salmon, Alaska; two sisters, Sandra Henry and Beatrice ‘Audrey’
Raymond, both of Argyle, NY; two brothers, Wilfred Henry of Argyle, and
Vernon and his wife Elaine Henry of Glens Falls, NY; nieces, nephews, and
cousins. He is predeceased by his wife, Carolyn Mary Lehman Henry; a
sister, Reba Henry; and a brother-in-law, Herb Raymond.
Don was born November
3, 1936 at his grandparent’s home in Hebron, NY, son
of Willard and Grace ‘Eunice’ (Harwood) Henry. He graduated from Argyle Central School
in 1954 and State University of New York Plattsburg in 1958. He married Carolyn Mary Lehman on
December 22, 1967 at First Mennonite Church, New
Bremen with Pastor Norman Lyndaker officiating. Don and Carolyn met when they were
teachers at Lowville Academy and Central School. Don also taught science at Clinton
Central School and worked part-time at the New York State Thruway, retiring
from the State of New York in 2019. He was a vendor at multiple Farmers
Markets for over 30 years.
Don served on the
board of directors of Beaver Camp and the Adirondack Mennonite Heritage
Association. He was a volunteer tax preparer for a non-profit organization,
served on committees at the Clinton United Methodist Church, and supported
multiple land stewardship, conservation, and wildlife organizations.
