Lewis County Emerging Professionals to Celebrate 10-Year Anniversary

A Decade of Community Celebrated with Local Brews, Food, and Prizes

LOWVILLE, NY — Lewis County Emerging Professionals (EP) will celebrate its 10-year anniversary with a special Happy Hour event on Wednesday, May 6, from 5:00–8:00 PM at Second Place Beer Company in Lowville. The event is open to the public and invites community members of all ages and backgrounds to join in recognizing a decade of connection and engagement across Lewis County.

The evening will feature food by El Buen Sazón, a free trivia activity, and a community raffle highlighting local businesses that have supported EP over the years. Attendees can pick up a trivia sheet upon arrival for a chance to be entered into the raffle, which will include gift cards and merchandise from area establishments.

Founded in 2016 as a capstone project of the Lewis County Leadership Academy, Emerging Professionals was created to help young adults build social and professional connections within the community. What began as a simple idea has grown into a sustained effort to foster belonging, leadership, and engagement across the region.

Over the past ten years, EP has hosted monthly happy hours, networking events, hikes, volunteer opportunities, and signature fundraisers, including Trivia Nights and New Year’s Eve Galas, bringing together individuals from a wide range of industries, backgrounds, and stages of life.

Co-founder and current Board President McKenzie Lehman offers these reflections on the event:

“This event is both a celebration and an invitation. We’re proud of the community that’s grown over the past decade, and we’re excited to welcome new faces. Whether you’ve been involved for years or are just hearing about EP for the first time, this is a great opportunity to connect.”

The May 6 Happy Hour is open to anyone interested in attending, regardless of membership. Those looking to get more involved are encouraged to attend events, connect with current members, and consider joining EP to support its mission of strengthening community ties in Lewis County.
