The program will take place at the Lewis County Fairgrounds Pavilion on Mondays and Wednesdays for three weeks, beginning May 4, 2026. Sessions will be held on May 4, 6, 11, 13, 18, and 20.

Children from across Lewis County and beyond are invited to participate, and families are encouraged to bring their children or grandchildren to join in the fun. No experience is necessary—just bring a willingness to learn and a smile.

During the program, trained volunteers from the Adirondack Foothills Cycling Club and Encompass Recreation will help kids develop balance and confidence using strider bikes provided by the program. The focus is on teaching the fundamentals of riding in a safe, supportive, and encouraging environment.

“This program is all about giving kids the opportunity to learn a skill that can last a lifetime,” said a representative from the Adirondack Foothills Cycling Club. “Riding a bike builds confidence, independence, and a lifelong love of being active outdoors.”

The All Kids Bike program is designed to be welcoming and inclusive, ensuring every child has the chance to learn at their own pace with guidance from caring volunteers. The program ensures that everyone—regardless of intellectual or developmental disabilities, age, or life circumstances—has the opportunity to learn and enjoy cycling.

Families interested in participating can simply come to the pavilion at the fairgrounds on any of the scheduled dates. There is no cost to participate, and all equipment will be provided.
