Workplace Forum to Address Workforce Challenges and
Employee Stability in NNY
Watertown, NY — Local employers,
community leaders, and workforce partners are invited to attend an upcoming
Workplace Forum on Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 8:30 AM to 10:00 AM at
the Jeff-Lewis BOCES Administration and Conference Center (Room C), located
at 20104 Arsenal St, Watertown, NY.
Hosted in
collaboration with the Jefferson-Lewis Workforce Development Board and
United Way of Northern New York, the forum will explore current workforce
trends and share practical strategies to strengthen employee stability and
retention.
Cheryl Mayforth,
Executive Director of the Jefferson-Lewis Workforce Development Board, will
present an overview of workforce and employment trends, including:

The impact of changing population demographics on
staffing
·
Local unemployment data
·
The influence of state and federal policies on
regional employment
Dawn Cole,
President & CEO of United Way of Northern New York, will share insights
on ALICE households (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) and how
financial instability can impact workforce participation, attendance, and
retention.
Cole will also
highlight Getting Ahead in the Workplace, a Bridges-informed workshop
designed to help employees build financial capability, strengthen
problem-solving skills, and develop strategies for greater stability,
benefiting both the individual and their employer.
The Workplace
Forum is free of charge and open to all interested employers and community
partners. No registration is required.
