Betty Hoch
LOWVILLE- Betty Hoch, 92, of Number Four Road, Lowville, New
York passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026 at
the Lewis County Residential Healthcare Facility, where she has resided for
the past five years.
Betty is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law,
Jeffrey F. and Joyce Hoch of Glenfield, Richard W. and Teresa Hoch of
Castorland, Reginald W. and Jill Hoch of Lowville; two daughters and a
son-in-law, Margaret and Stephen Kubinski of Lowville and Melissa A. Hoch and
her companion Stephen Millard of Lowville; seven grandsons and one granddaughter;
eight great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She is predeceased by three brothers and
sisters-in-law, Earl C. "Chub" and Jean Yousey of Croghan, T.
John "Jack" and Beverly Yousey, Edward G. and Norma Yousey;
sisters and brothers-in-law, Zita and Carlton Wakefield, Shirley F. Blair,
Joyce A. and Stanley Mathys; two grandsons, Matthew Kubinski and Benjamin
N. Hoch.
Betty was born on July 30, 1933
at home in Belfort, NY, a daughter of the late Earl V. and Margaret E.
Mitchell Yousey and attended Beaver River Central School and graduated in
1951. On June 6, 1953, she married Reginald Hoch at the Lowville Baptist
Church by Reverand William Sawin, Pastor, officiating. Betty worked as secretary/treasurer for
Hoch Bros. Inc. from the 1970's until retiring in 1982. Reginald passed away on October 18,
2006. Betty was a Deacon of the
Lowville Baptist Church, president of Christian Women's, Home Bible
Studies, member of Lowville Baptist Women's Ministries and she taught
Sunday School for many years. She was a member of the Croghan American
Legion Auxiliary, served as a Republican Committee member, was Town of
Watson Tax Collector, a Life member of Lewis County Memorial Post #6912
Auxiliary, a member of the Number Four/Stillwater Fish and Game Club, and a
leader of the Watson Whip-poor-wills 4- H Club, and participated in Watson Women’s
Home Dem Group. Betty enjoyed
reading, knitting and crocheting and being a homemaker. She was a Mary Kay consultant years ago.
A funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday,
March 25, 2026 at the Lowville Baptist Church with
Rev. Leon Runner, Pastor, officiating.
There are no calling hours.
Spring burial will be in Beaches Bridge Cemetery.
