Below Average Mean Temperature

Lowville, NY- Overall,
Lowville saw a mean temperature below average last month, according to
weather data compiled from the Northeast
Regional Climate Center (dating back to 1893), with above
average overall precipitation- while recording the 5th highest snow total
for the month of January on record.
January finished
with a mean average temperature (cumulative highs and lows) of 15.6 degrees
in Lowville, a full 1.7 degrees below the normal mean average temperature
for January in Lowville of 17.3 degrees. In terms of ranking, it was the 41st
coldest January on record. The warmest January on record for Lowville
occurred in 1932, when the mean average temperature for the month was 30.6
degrees. The coldest January occurred in 1994, when the mean average
temperature was just 3.9 degrees for the month. The highest temperature of
